Dominate Your Local Aluminum Wire Niche!
Aluminum wire has posed a problem to homeowners and contractors alike
for decades. No viable solution has risen to the top. The Consumer
Product Safety Commission (CPSC) officially endorses two solutions:
1) Completely rewire the home with copper wire
This
is incredibly expensive, not to mention impractical. Aluminum wire in
and of itself has proven to be a trust worthy conductor, so the
suggestion of ripping it all out doesn't fly well with most homeowners.
Yet, they are still exposed when they try to pigtail devices with
copper wire.
2) Use the copalum crimp
The manufacturer
of the crimp requires certification in order to use the tool to install
their connectors. And very few contractors are certified to use it. It
too is very expensive.
The end result?
Homes left
exposed to aluminum wire related dangers and contractors who aren't
interested in helping solve this problem since they know the cheaper
solutions aren't great fixes either.
For decades, this has
been a problem. Only recently has a connector broken the mold -- in
this case literally -- to become an economical, complete and permanent
solution. With it's unique design, the AlumiConn aluminum to copper
connector separates the dissimilar conductors so that they are never
actually touching each other.
Additionally, the conductors are coated with an anti-oxidant that is prefilled into the connector ports.
AlumiConn
is UL and CSA listed. Additionally, a leading electrical engineer by the name of Dr Jesse
Aronstien has extensively tested AlumiConn and found it be a long-term, failure-free safe product, provided that you follow the manufacturer's installation instructions. He has written a report about repairing aluminum wire in residential homes. (More information about his report can be found at http://www.Inspect-NY.com).
Quietly (and happily) electrical
contractors are using the AlumiConn to repair aluminum wire
terminations and are dominating their local markets.
